We are currently recruiting for a number of Fundraising Coordinators to help us achieve our fundraising goals. This role has three basic roles:
- Organising a range of local small-scale fundraising events
- Using pro forma documents to apply for funding from grant-giving organisations
- Providing opinions and ideas for further fundraising activities
Organising events is the primary activity of the Fundraising Coordinators. These events should be small-scale with the capacity to be run regularly. The proposed fundraising amount per event is between £300 and £600; a relatively small amount in the UK but enough to provide for an entire loan group in Kayanja. Past events have included club nights, speed dating and 5 a side football tournaments, but new and exciting ideas are more then welcome. Capital for Life will cover all the costs of all of the proposed events.
The position of Fundraising Coordinator is a volunteer role with a high degree of autonomy. This autonomy gives the successful candidates opportunities to develop real managerial experience in fundraising and international development and so will require individuals with confidence and self-discipline. Past experience of organising events is not strictly required as support will be provided, but such experience will be looked on positively.
Capital for Life is an ambitious and growing organisation and there will be opportunities for successful candidates to help with other events, such as the proposed overland rally from London to Kampala/Kayanja in summer 2011. As Capital for Life develops into a more multi-faceted organisation there will also be the potential for individuals with a proven commitment to the organisation to take on further managerial roles. There will also be opportunities for individuals to visit our loan groups in Uganda and see the impacts of their work.
